Datalogic and Sick resolve patenting disputes

Written by  Mary Del Ciancio December 06, 2010
Datalogic S.p.A. and its subsidiary Datalogic Automation S.r.l., a worldwide producer of automatic identification, detection and marking solutions and products for applications in the industrial automation and transportation and logistics industries, have settled all pending disputes with Sick A.G. The company has also announced that it has contextually granted a licence for the use of Datalogic's technology to the German company in the field of stationary barcode scanners for industrial applications. This agreement will allow Sick to continue using Datalogic's technology, known as PackTrack, in its stationary scanners.

The agreement puts an end to the judiciary disputes between the two companies, which were initiated in 2005 by Datalogic. The agreement also defines a procedure to resolve any feasible future disputes. Further conditions of the agreement remain strictly confidential.
