Bison mirrors "instant" stocking program with Canadian distributor

Written by  MA Staff February 22, 2011
By enlisting the help of a Canadian 3PL (third party logistics) company, Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. now provides warehousing, inventory management and delivery of more than 400 Bison gearmotors, motors, reducers and accessories to the Canadian market, and provides customer service to Canadian customers.

"With the success of Bison's ISIS (In-Stock Instant Ship) program, it only made sense to mirror our domestic stocking program in the Canadian marketplace to serve customers better. We were looking for a partner with an established presence in Canada who had the ability to offer innovative logistics solutions to improve our on-time delivery and order fulfillment," said Mike Niemela, director of distribution at Bison Gear.

Products will be stocked in the greater Toronto area to ensure speedy delivery, the company says.

Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. designs and manufactures fractional horsepower electric motors, gearmotors and gear reducers used in industrial and commercial OEM applications worldwide. Bison's St. Charles, Ill., integrated production facility manufactures gearmotors and reducers in parallel shaft and right angle configurations, as well as AC, DC and brushless DC electric motors.
