Manufacturing sales increased 1.9 percent in March to $47.5 billion, following a 1.8 percent decline in February, according to Statistics Canada's Monthly Survey of Manufacturing for March 2011. Which industries and provinces drove the gains?

Toyota to boost North American production earlier than expected
Toyota will boost production earlier than expected following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Beginning in June, overall North American production will reach approximately 70 percent of normal levels, up from approximately 30 percent in May. Which models will reach 100 percent in June?


Automotive manufacturer fined after worker seriously injured
Rieter Automotive Mastico Ltd. was fined $120,000 on May 11, 2011 for a violation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act after a worker was seriously injured. Learn more about the charges.


Vehicle sales increase in March, expected to fall in April: StatsCan

Maple Leaf Engineering president re-elected to lead Professional Engineers Ontario
