New controllers with more compact design, more performance and PROFINET communication: Siemens Industry Automation has developed four new Simatic S7-300 controllers with a width of just 40 millimeters:

• the standard controllers CPU 315-2 PN/DP and CPU 317-2 PN/DP; and
• the failsafe controllers CPU 315F-2 PN/DP and CPU 317F-2 PN/DP. 

Although these controllers have a reduced width -comparing to their predecessors- the new products include two PROFINET-interfaces, offer considerably more performance and working memory. Expanded functions of the integrated web server enable user-friendly process monitoring and system diagnostics.
