Automation software developer ICONICS has achieved its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

The ICONICS platform visualizes and analyzes real-time information for any application on any device, enabling improvement to energy efficiency, productivity and product quality.

The company, which recently became part of the Mitsubishi Electric Group, says it has developed and implemented its quality management system in order to improve overall performance, maintain a high level of quality and strong customer service and to provide a sound basis for sustainable development initiatives.

In achieving compliance with the ISO 9001 standard, ICONICS worked with the British Standards Institute (BSI) certification body.

BSI reviewed ICONICS’ management system and awarded certification to the standard as an independent third-party specialist.

“Quality is one of the top priorities for the Mitsubishi Electric Group worldwide,” says Yuji Ichioka, executive vice-president. “ICONICS’ achievement of ISO 9001 certification is perfectly aligned with Mitsubishi Electric’s corporate direction.”

This designation is especially important for a software developer whose solutions include tools that help its customers analyze and improve their own quality of products and services. ISO 9001 certification is often used as a benchmark for many organizations when considering vendors or business partners.

“We continually aim to improve our products and services so that we are recognized by our customers as a leader and an excellent supplier of automation software and services,” says Dave Oravetz, vice-president of engineering. “To accomplish this, we meticulously collect customer inputs, clearly define product requirements, create products conforming to those requirements, as well as the requirements of ISO 9001, and do this with the goal of continuous improvement.”
