Progressive Automations has announced a new scholarship program that will give away a prize of $1,000 each to two engineering students. The aim is to make engineering education more affordable, more accessible and less financially strenuous.

All first-year engineering students enrolled at a recognized Canadian or American post-secondary college or university in an engineering program at the undergraduate level are eligible, regardless of type — from civil engineering students to bio-engineering students.

Students interested in applying must submit a 1,000 word essay, a completed application and a copy of their high school transcripts to demonstrate academic achievement. Full rules, the application form, more information and eligibility can be found here.

The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2014. Winners will be notified by August 15, 2014. The application process for 2015 will begin after the submission deadline for 2014, on June 16.
