Fanshawe receives $248M software grant from Siemens Canada

Feb. 4, 2017 – A new partnership between Fanshawe College and Siemens Canada aims to provide new learning opportunities for the college’s engineering students.
The $248-million grant — which includes NX softwre for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering — will enable students in the School of Applied Science and Technology to use real-world software technology in their classroom. The software is part of Siemens’ PLM Software business, a global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services for a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, machinery, medical devices, shipbuilding and electronics.
“This investment by Siemens PLM Software will help us unlock the potential of our engineering students, ensuring they are well prepared for relevant and rewarding careers upon graduation,” said Fanshawe president Peter Devlin. “We thank Siemens for their support of Fanshawe College.”

London, Ontario-based Longterm Technology Services, a Siemens Channel Partner, worked closely with Fanshawe and Siemens PLM Software on this grant.
