Designed with SMB manufacturers in mind, COSS ERP combines all of the functionality of the COSS manufacturing software suite with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains accounting software. It is built on the .NET framework, the same development platform Microsoft uses for its own products. Plus, the interface looks and feels like Microsoft Office, so many users will be familiar with the new format.

The product has been in development for the past two years, and contains all of the core functionality of its forerunner, COSS 5.8, but with enhanced capabilities, explained Antonia Spitzer, president of COSS Systems. Some of the key features include: one integrated menu structure with a single log in; advanced reporting; a built-in adhoc report writer; a custom-built executive dashboard; built-in web-based tools; analytical tools; and an enhanced menu structure.

COSS will be offering a four-day training course on the product in Toronto and the New York area, starting in the summer of 2009, to make sure customers are ready to convert to the new version. COSS will continue to support 5.8 - their previous version with Sage Software - until December 31, 2010. During this time, they will provide an upgrade to Sage ERP 5.6 and Sage Pro 7.6.
