Aug. 23, 2016 – Morgan Corp., a manufacturer of medium-duty truck bodies, is planning to expand its manufacturing footprint into the Midwest. According to a company statement, a site search is underway in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan to select a location capable of supporting the production of up to 3,000 truck bodies annually with plans to open and become operational during early 2017.

Morgan said the facility will be roughly 160,000 sq. ft. and be employed by approximately 175 team members.

“Our business continues to expand rapidly as we launch new products and gain market share. This has led us to conclude that we must install additional capacity to meet the growing needs and demands of our current and future customers,” said Norb Markert, company president and COO. “With a total of 12 facilities in the U.S. and Canada, we know that Morgan’s proximity to its customers is an important part of improving customer service. Our decision to operate a plant in the Midwest will enable Morgan to better meet the needs of its customers and to more aggressively compete in this strategic region.”

In Canada, Morgan operates a manufacturing plant in Brampton, Ont.
