Robb Black named pres/COO Omron Automation & Safety

Jun. 5, 2015 – Omron’s Automation and Safety business in the Americas is welcoming Robert (Robb) M. Black to the position of president and COO. He brings with him an “extensive background” in industrial automation and experience from leadership positions at Honeywell, Turck and Rockwell Automation.

“Robb comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience from well-respected global automation companies,” said Nigel Blakeway, CEO of Omron Automation and Safety for the Americas. “He has built a great foundation as a leader in his previous roles in sales, marketing and product management.”
 
Prior to joining the company, Black served as business director for Sensing and Connectivity at Rockwell Automation.

“I am very excited to be joining a company with such a rich history of innovation and passion for serving the needs of society, and I look forward to leading Omron Automation and Safety to the next level,” said Black (in photo). “Omron is already well positioned as an automation leader, and we continue to forge deeper customer relationships in markets where automation makes a significant, sustainable impact such as digital, automotive and packaging, among others.”
