J/E Bearing and Machine Ltd. is celebrating 30 years in business.

The company, based in Tillsonburg, Ont., was founded in 1983 as a small machining shop serving a variety of local industries and farmers. Today, J/E is a fully equipped custom machine shop providing both services and products to a variety of industries across North America. The company focuses on customers in various industries, including defence, food processing, automotive and steel industries, environmental and waste treatment, mining and mineral processing, municipal and government facilities, oil and gas, textiles and forestry products.

“Since our inception in 1983, our strength has been our people and our focus on customer service. We have constantly searched for improved processes, products and systems to be the supplier our customers can count on,” said Chuck Hendricks, the company’s vice-president. “During the recession, we searched new markets, new industries and new customers, with successful entries into military, mining, alternative energy, among others. Our willingness to adapt, change and stick to our customer service strengths was our success. Our company and our people made changes and sacrifices necessary to bring us to our current state of excellence and growth.”
