Feb. 24, 2015 – Magna International is celebrating the grand opening of Autotek Morelos, a new greenfield facility in Mexico, for the assembly of automotive chassis products.

The 130,000-square-foot facility will produce structural welded assemblies for global automakers including Nissan and, at full production, is expected to employ about 300 people.

“On behalf of Magna, I want to thank the local community and the state of Morelos for their ongoing support and collaboration on this project,” said Sandro Passera, executive vice-president of operations in Mexico for Cosma International, Magna’s body and chassis operating unit. “They have helped make it possible for us to continue growing our world-class manufacturing operation, and we are excited for the opportunity to support our customers from this new facility.”

Company officials were joined by members of state and local government as well as customers for the occasion.
