May 26, 2015 – IMP Aerostructures has issued layoff notices to 30 employees, it says, as it continues to deal with a slowdown in the aerospace industry.
The Amherst, N.S., facility has been affected by cutbacks at customers such as Bombardier and Bell Helicopters, said plant manager Dave Pearson.
The layoffs are effective June 1. Pearson says the layoffs are not related to the 90 employees that were let go earlier this year.
The latest move leaves the company with approximately 200 workers.
