Jan. 10, 2017 – As a result of “continued success and growth,” Hiwin America has announced plans to relocate its U.S. headquarters in Elgin, Ill., to a new, larger location in Huntley, Ill.

Boasting “best-in-class manufacturing, delivery and service,” the new $18-million facility will house a large machining facility, labs for quality, engineering/R&D and training, and a high-efficiency warehousing system. The quality and engineering labs have been updated to let Hiwin engineers study “new product developments and ensure industry leading product quality,” said the company. Meanwhile, the distribution centre will house a highly automated order picking system capable of storing more than 2 million pounds of product. The storage system will feed an updated and expanded machining and assembly area. Hiwin says the new automation and expanded machine capabilities will “ensure best possible lead times and quick shipment for even custom product requests.”

According to a statement from the company, the new headquarters will allow the manufacturer to “ensure our customers receive the best products and service for years to come.”

The site offers 118,000 square foot of functional work space with an additional 150,000 square foot of unfinished space for future expansion of production, distribution and corporate offices. It is scheduled to open next month.
