Chrysler saves jobs with investment in Toronto area plant
Written by Mary Del Ciancio August 16, 2010
Chrysler has announced a $27.2-million investment in its Etobicoke, Ont., casting plant. The funds will go towards prepping the plant to make front and rear crossmembers - a component in a vehicle's suspension system - for future Chrysler vehicles, starting in the third quarter of 2011. This investment will help retain 280 jobs and keep the Etobicoke plant from shutting its doors.
