Written by  Mary Del Ciancio October 18, 2010
Effective November 1, 2010, Eastern Bearings, Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based distributor of bearings and power transmission components, will change its business name to Eastern Industrial Automation.

"With the bearings, power transmission and motion control power distribution industry changing, as well as International business demands, we felt it was time to change our name to accurately describe our business," explained Geoff Filker, principal of Eastern Bearings, Inc. "This change will align our company name with our vision for the future, position us for growth, while supporting our current structure and objectives. Our company has grown and evolved to offer so much more than bearings, so that now Eastern Industrial Automation will accurately describe our business. Our name change is an enhancement to our value proposition and will portray to the industry a broader range of value-added services offered: industrial automation, pneumatics, predictive maintenance, automated lubrication, pump repair, field installation and repair services, integrated supply, gearbox repair, and international business."
