Green manufacturing network aimed at connecting and educating manufacturers
Written by MA Staff January 03, 2012"The mission of the Green Manufacturer Network is to be the principal resource to advance sustainable manufacturing," said Edward Youdell, president and CEO of the FMA. "By joining this network, executives throughout the entire supply chain can learn practical strategies and affordable measures to run sustainable operations, as well as discover new business opportunities in the green marketplace."
Members of the group will receive discounts on conferences, workshops and webinars; helpful event announcements and topical discussions; as well as access to sustainability resources.
"In a recent FMA member survey, 51 percent of respondents indicated their company has a committed sustainability program with dedicated staff and performance metrics," said Jim Warren, FMA membership and education director. "An additional 38 percent of respondents indicated their company was moving toward full commitment to sustainable practices. They've recognized that being green directly impacts the bottom line in a positive way. Further, good environmental stewardship sends a powerful message to current and potential customers of one's dedication to sustainability in their communities."
The cost to join the Green Manufacturer Network is $150 US. Members will be able to share knowledge on sustainable manufacturing and promote awareness that going green can increase profitability while forming valuable contacts with other green leaders through volunteer and educational opportunities.
