Calgary, Alta. - Careers in Manufacturing recently presented the Calgary Manufacturing IndustryÃs Best Employer Awards to six Calgary businesses in recognition of their business excellence in creating progressive, safe and innovative environments.
"The manufacturing sector in Calgary is vibrant and critical to our
local economy, it is also one of our cityÃs best kept secrets," says
Brad Donaldson, Dean of SAIT PolytechnicÃs School of Manufacturing and

Best Employer Awards provides an opportunity to raise awareness about
the many diverse employment and career opportunities in this field."
The Awards were designed to promote the manufacturing industry as a desirable and viable career choice, provide a forum for sharing best practices and be a mechanism to showcase employers within the manufacturing industry.
The 2008 Calgary Best Employer award recipients are: Net Safety Monitoring, Kudu Industries and Flextronics for Best Manufacturing Employer; Dynamic Source Manufacturing, Optima Manufacturing and Gunnar Manufacturing for Employer of Choice.
Awards were presented to companies based on their company vision, the caliber of their working environment, physical space, work and social atmosphere, the companyÃs ability to engage and motivate staff, the monetary and non-monetary benefits provided to employees, employee development and training and environmental and social responsibility.
