Sales on the rise for some Canadian manufacturers

Sales of power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) products by Canadian manufacturers rose 25.4 percent in June 2010 compared to the previous month, according to sales data released by the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) in its Market Outlook Report. The report says that year-to-date sales in the first half of the year are up 9.7 percent.

All tracked categories showed month-to-month gains (from May 2010 to June 2010), with the exception of clutches and brakes, which were down 17.4 percent. Shaft couplings were up 71.3 percent; variable speed drives were up 53.9 percent; mounted bearings were up 45.1 percent; unmounted bearings were up 32.2 percent; positioning systems and linear motion products were up 14.1 percent; gear products were up 13.7 percent; and mechanical drive systems and other PT products were up 10.7 percent.

The Market Outlook Report is published monthly by the Power Transmission Distributors Association.
