Siemens PLM Software, today announced the latest release of Parasolid software, its 3D geometric modeling component for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering analysis (CAD/CAM/CAE) as well as architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) applications. Parasolid version 25.0 includes enhancements in a wide variety of areas with a special focus on surface and curve modeling as well as performance optimization. It includes enhancements that provide end-users fine control of surface modeling, new functionality to provide fine control when manipulating curves. A single smooth continuous curve can now be created from a chain of smoothly-connected edges and one or more curves may be projected onto a surface along the surface normal or along a user supplied vector. It also features enhancements to improve established algorithms in functionality such as Booleans and ray-fire to address new workflows in CAE applications. This has been achieved with no compromise to the performance of the more sophisticated operations in these areas.
