Jun. 8, 2015 – Wieland Electric says it has enhanced its non-contact magnetic safety switches with integrated LED technology, providing machine operators with an immediate indication of a safety door’s interlock status to reduce the incidence of unscheduled equipment downtime with its SMA series tamper-proof interlock switches. Rated for safety applications up to PL e/Category 4 (EN ISO 13489-1) standards, the series features three sets of contacts: (NO / NO / NC), with an actuating distance of 7 mm (on) to 20 mm (off). The SMA 0249 switches are designed with an industry standard M12 connector, while the SMA 0243 devices have a 3m open-wire cable integral to the unit. Both are sealed to IP67 standards, notes the company.
