Oct. 2, 2015 – AutomationDirect has added IDEM emergency stop control stations to its line of pushbuttons.

Designed to provide “robust emergency stop protection,” the switches have a lid safety trip mechanism which opens the contacts if the station lid is removed, according to AutomationDirect. Versions are available with a button protection shroud that accepts a padlock to lock out for maintenance activities, promising added protection. The units are available in two styles which are fitted with a 40 mm twist-to-release mushroom head operator; the standard size box features 3-pole positive guided contacts and is available with plastic IP67-rated or IP69K-rated (NEMA 6) stainless steel housings and two conduit entries, while the long size box features a stainless steel housing, 4-pole positive guided contacts, three conduit entries, a two-colour LED for status indication and includes an emergency stop legend plate. IDEM emergency stop control stations are cULus listed, CE, RoHS2 and REACH compliant.
