AXYZ debuts 40,000 RPM high-speed spindle

Feb. 2, 2016 – AXYZ International spindles are no longer limited to running at 24,000 RPM.

That bar is raised with the PDS XLC70 quick release, 3.0 horsepower spindle, which the company says is capable of operating at speeds up to 40,000 rpm while maintaining a high-quality cut edge finish. According to AXYZ, the PDS XLC70 does not require water cooling, instead, it is cooled by compressed air. The spindle is available as a retrofit for existing machines, subject to specification.
