Feb. 29, 2016 – Advantech says its IEC-61850-3 certified ECU-4784 with an Intel Core Haswell i7 CPU with Intel AMT enables the unit to be monitored and managed regardless of whether it’s switched on or if the operating system has frozen.

To aid in building substation systems, the ECU-4784 features dual expansion slots which can be used to “significantly increase” the number of COM, LAN, I/O ports.  Other features include iCDManager (Intelligent Connectivity Diagnosis Manager), TPC (Trusted Platform Module), AMT (Active Management Technology) and VT-D (Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O). The Intel CPU supports Intel VT-D functionality by using the VT-D hardware assistance built into Intel’s chipsets. The ECU-4000 series is IEC-61850-3 compliant and offers a fanless design, isolated COM and LAN ports, redundancy power, and LAN teaming.
