Rugged non-contact sensor

E-mail Print PDF
The new Temposonics C-Series Model CR Rod and Cylinder sensor from MTS is well suited to a number of off-highway machine designs.  It integrates MTS' standard Model CS or CM sensor inside a 2mm thick steel mechanical package that is designed to protect the sensor from the mechanical pounding and environmental scourges seen by off-highway machines.

The heavy-duty packaging and non-contact technology, along with its design for minimal modification mounting, makes the CR sensor ANalternative to other rod-and-cylinder style sensors that migrated from indoor purposed packages.

Safe camera sensor

E-mail Print PDF
SICK has presented its V300 WS Extended, the latest generation of safe camera sensors for protecting hazardous areas and points-of-operation at SIL2 or PL d levels. Its range has been enhanced so that it can now monitor protective areas of up to 2.25 m². Operating two systems in Synchronous Mode allows the size of the protective field to be doubled. Commissioning of the V300 WS Extended has been made even easier with the help of intuitive single-button operation and the improved four-LED display. The single-device concept of the safe camera sensor is also convincing in economic terms -...

Inductive proximity sensors

E-mail Print PDF
Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced its X-Series Pile Driver extended range inductive sensors, available in 12, 18 and 30 diameters to deliver sensing ranges of 5mm, 10mm or 15mm. Stainless steel housings deliver durability more than 20 times that of the competition’s brass and plastic housings, the company says, and Black Armor coated weld-immune models are also available.

Its extended sensing field is a big benefit in automotive manufacturing applications, as it enables reliable detection of irregularly shaped contours, and increased sensor-to-target distances help eliminate contact-related...
