Feb. 7, 2017 – Los Angeles, California-based materials science company American Elements says it is expanding its pure metal and metal alloy powder production facility to increase the volume and variety of powders it can make to support the “burgeoning” additive manufacturing industry.

Gabriel Leis, head of additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping at American Elements, says that at full capacity, the expanded facility will deliver several metric tonnes of high-purity alloys monthly.

The company says it maintains an “efficient production process to yield the highest quality of additive manufacturing powders at an economical price.” Its alloys are currently being used in various industries including medical devices and aerospace components.
