
Inaugural awards showcase Calgary’s best manufacturing employers

Calgary, Alta. – Careers in Manufacturing recently presented the Calgary Manufacturing IndustryÃs Best Employer Awards to six Calgary businesses in recognition of their business excellence in creating progressive, safe and innovative environments.
“The manufacturing sector in Calgary is vibrant and critical to our
local economy, it is also one of our cityÃs best kept secrets,” says
Brad Donaldson, Dean of SAIT PolytechnicÃs School of Manufacturing and
Automation. “Manufacturing can be an ideal career choice and CalgaryÃs
Best Employer Awards provides an opportunity to raise awareness about
the many diverse employment and career opportunities in this field.”
The Awards were designed to promote the manufacturing industry as a
desirable and viable career choice, provide a forum for sharing best
practices and be a mechanism to showcase employers within the
manufacturing industry.
The 2008 Calgary Best Employer award recipients are: Net Safety
Monitoring, Kudu Industries and Flextronics for Best Manufacturing
Employer; Dynamic Source Manufacturing, Optima Manufacturing and Gunnar
Manufacturing for Employer of Choice.
Awards were presented to companies based on their company vision, the
caliber of their working environment, physical space, work and social
atmosphere, the companyÃs ability to engage and motivate staff, the
monetary and non-monetary benefits provided to employees, employee
development and training and environmental and social responsibility.
