The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and Deutsche Messe AG are forming a strategic partnership that will bring a world-class industrial automation event to North America for the first time. Industrial Automation North America will debut September 10-15, 2012 alongside the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.

Industrial Automation North America will showcase products and solutions for production automation, complementing IMTS’s focus on machine tools, metalworking and precision manufacturing.

"We are thrilled to reinforce the international nature of IMTS by having one of manufacturing’s premier trade show organizers join with us for our important North American event," said Douglas K. Woods, president of AMT. "We are taking a major step forward by bringing Industrial Automation North America to the IMTS campus so that we can expand and strengthen the range of solutions available to IMTS visitors."

Dr. Andreas Gruchow, member of the board at Deutsche Messe, said, "IMTS is a well-established and highly successful event. As the organizer of HANNOVER MESSE, the world’s largest industrial technology trade fair, we bring to this partnership a strong background in automation. We are confident that this expanded ‘two-in-one-format’ will attract more exhibiting companies and visitors, and bolster recognition of IMTS and Industrial Automation North America as the continent’s leading destination for manufacturing technology."
