The new eDrive Technically Advanced Power Transmission Line from Dorner Manufacturing offers a 25 percent reduction in heat; a 30 percent reduction in weight; and a footprint that’s 15 percent smaller than conventional gear motors, the company says. Designed with the latest advancements in aluminum-body gear head and motor technologies, eDrive comes with a two-year gear head warranty and is maintenance free. The technology behind the eDrive starts inside its die-cast aluminum housings, where the four bearing, 90-degree gear head, along with low inertia rotors and fan-cooled motors run cooler, smoother and virtually eliminate leakage, according to the company. The eDrive is designed to fit all of Dorner’s industrial conveyor platforms (2200, 3200, 4100, 5200, 6200 and MPB). The gear heads and motors are equipped with both NEMA and IEC flanges. The motors range from 1/4 to two horsepower.
