
Applied Manufacturing Technologies launches safety services business unit

Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT), a supplier of factory automation design, engineering and process consulting services, has established a new safety services business unit to offer its customers consulting assistance to assess risks and validate proposed solutions for their industrial automation applications.
The company has appointed industry expert Roberta Nelson Shea as director of safety consulting services for the new unit. Nelson Shea is a recognized expert on safety and risk assessment, and will head the unit’s team of consultants to offer AMT customers hazard assessment and solution validation services.
Nelson Shea is experienced in automation and manufacturing safety. She has served on multiple standards and automation boards, including the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Robotic Industries Association (RIA). She previously served as president at Safety Compliance Services, LLC, and as COO and general manager at Pilz Automation Safety, L.P.
