Organizers of the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) have announced a new location for 2013: the newly improved Toronto International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.
“As this event continues to expand, not only in size but in relevance and scope, it made sense to bring it to the International Centre where we will be closer to our manufacturing ties,” said Nick Samain, event manager with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, organizers of CMTS. “Not only will we be in the heart of Ontario’s manufacturing base, but by being in close proximity to Pearson International Airport and all major highways, we’ll also be conveniently located for a growing national and international audience.”
The move brings a new flavour to the show, with an innovative floor plan configuration that will be a first for the International Centre and will take advantage of significant facility improvements to bring an even more enhanced experience to attendees, says Samain.
“Together with the International Centre, we’ve worked hard to incorporate a number of exciting upgrades into the facility that will support an unparalleled customer experience,” he said. “Building on the many enhancements we’ve already incorporated into CMTS 2011, we will combine a dynamic show floor with multiple networking hubs and one-on-one meeting programs to deliver premiere education both on and off the show floor.”
Recent improvements to the International Centre include enhanced signage that uses full-sized LED screens to showcase events in colour; an upscale front facade with new glass doors and new terrazzo flooring; a new, state-of-the-art kitchen; and a 48,000-square-foot conference centre built to offer the latest in audio-visual and mobile communication technology. Planned improvements include the widening of connecting hallways between buildings.
“The improved facility addresses all of our needs,” notes Samain, pointing to the added advantage of complementary parking for 5,000 vehicles. “It’s the ideal location for an expanding world-class event like CMTS.”
Show dates for CMTS 2013 are September 30 to October 3, 2013 at the Toronto International Centre. The show will be moving from its current location at the Direct Energy Centre where it has been held since 1999. CMTS 2011 wraps up on Thursday, October 20, 2011.
