Push-in connection technology for wiring without tools

The PT range of terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact has now been extended to accommodate even larger cross-sections of up to eight AWG. This includes feed-through, multi-level and multi-conductor terminals, as well as component, base and disconnect terminals. The fuse and function terminals are just as small as the standard feed-through terminals. Using the PT terminal blocks, conductors are directly connected without using a tool. As soon as the conductor is inserted, the contact springs open automatically. With plugging forces up to 50 percent lower than before, it has never been easier to plug in a conductor and establish a contact, the company says. The high contact forces exceed those stipulated by the relevant standards and ensure that high-quality, reliable conductor contacts are established. To remove a conductor, simply press the newly designed button, which can be actuated with various tools. This transfers the force to the inner contact spring, which is then opened to its maximum extent. The orange colour of the button clearly identifies it as an actuating element and thus prevents mistakes from being made, the company explains. The PT range of terminal blocks leverages the advantages offered by the Clipline complete system of terminal blocks. This includes interchangeable connection technologies and standardized accessories, such as plug-in bridges, marking and testing accessories.
