Provincial police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old worker at a Tillsonburg seat factory.

Police say they were called to a Johnson Controls facility shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday and found a male employee dead.

The man’s name has not been released.

Ministry of Labour spokesman Matt Blajer says a lid came off a mould and struck the man in the head, causing serious injuries.

Johnson Controls makes seating for the auto industry.

The Ministry of Labour is continuing to investigate, as it does whenever someone dies on the job.
