Omron Automation and Safety has released the FH-Series Vision System featuring an advanced new algorithm that enables high-speed, stable measurement of target objects with bad focus and random rotation. The new vision system is designed to improve speed and accuracy of vision sensing, as well as all other manufacturing machine processes with built-in camera interface, EtherCAT communication interface to PLC, and easy-to-use measurement tools. The FH-Series also offers flexibility for easy customization of an HMI, the company says. It was designed for smooth integration with PLCs, motion control or robots to meet the needs of builders of high-speed manufacturing machinery. The company says that high-speed image acquisition and transfer based on commands from the PLC is seven times faster than with the Omron FZ-Series. Other features include multi-camera bus connection that enables fast transfer of high-resolution images from up to eight cameras; high-speed and parallel processing with the four-core CPU; and built-in EtherCAT communication that enables high-speed output to PLC.
