Beckhoff Automation’s CP26xx Panel PC series is equipped with an ARM Cortex A8 processor, and is designed for use in PLC and motion control applications, particularly for control of small to medium-sized machines, the company says. The ARM Cortex A8 processor has a hardware-based floating point unit, which makes floating point operations (Real, LReal) significantly faster. The company’s TwinCAT automation software turns the Panel PC into an all-in-one HMI, PLC and motion control system. Users have a choice of eight different multi-touch TFT displays in sizes between seven and 24 inches, as well as 4:3, widescreen, landscape or portrait formats. The operating temperature range for the panels is zero to 55 degrees C.
