As of January 1, 2014, Newport Electronics, Inc. has merged into Omega Engineering, Inc.

Newport has been a provider of high-precision test, measurement, process control and automation instrumentation for more than four decades. The company began manufacturing electronic instrumentation in 1965.
 
Newport is now a part of Omega and going forward will do business under the Omega name.

The shop online feature of newportUS.com has been closed. Online users can now go directly to omega.com to place online orders. The newportUS.com website will remain as a resource for manuals, specifications, mechanical information and more.
 
In 2011, Omega Engineering Inc. was acquired by Spectris plc. Omega offers more than 100,000 solutions for measurement of temperature, pressure, flow, level, strain, humidity, pH and conductivity, as well as a comprehensive line of data acquisition, electric heating and custom engineered products.
 
Spectris plc is a supplier of productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls. Headquartered in Egham, Surrey, England, the company employs more than 6,400 people, with offices in more than 30 countries.
