Cascades to open U.S. plant

Quebec-based Cascades Inc. is installing a new tissue-converting operation in Wagram, N.C., about 160 kilometres east of Charlotte.
The new plant will produce bathroom tissue, kitchen paper towels, paper napkins and hand towels. The US$55-million project is expected to start operation by the end of 2014.
Based in Kingsey Falls, Que., Cascades is one of North America’s largest manufacturers of tissue paper. It employs about 12,000 throughout North America and Europe.
