Kruger indefinitely idling paper machine and pulp operations at Quebec mill

Kruger Inc. will indefinitely stop production at one of three paper machines at its newsprint mill in Sherbrooke, Que., affecting 98 employees.
The Montreal-based forest products company said the decision to cut 100,000 tonnes of annual newsprint production and also close its de-inked pulp operations at the mill, effective November 14, is due to falling demand.
