Schneider Electric’s new Telemecanique Modicon M340 PLC is designed to be a rugged, compact and user-friendly controller ideally suited for most applications. With its 4MB internal RAM, the Modicon M340 can manage applications up to 70K instructions and 256KB data. Data is automatically backed up in the internal Flash memory and the application in an SD Card format. The “Plug & Load” technology of the card enables easy updating of the application or transfer to other machines with no disruption of the user’s operation. Data files or maintenance files can also be stored and easily accessed from a PC or by simple “drag-and-drop” via FTP. Each M340 module is “hot swap” designed and automatically configured by the CPU when inserted into the backplane.
