Unitronics’ new Vision1040 PLC and integrated HMI allows machine manufacturers and system integrators to add a 26.4-cm colour touchscreen equipped with nine programmable function keys, and full PLC functionality to their systems. Users have 1,024 I/O options, a USB programming port, data logging and built-in recipe capability. The Vision1040 can use 20 auto-tuned PID loops to control temperature, level and pressure, while the 16-bit, 65K SVGA colour touchscreen displays data, colour trend graphs and alarm screens. There are more than 1,000 user-designed screens, and up to 500 images per application. The memory holds two megabytes of application memory, plus one megabyte for fonts and 80 MB for images. Features include Micro SD card memory storage for data logging and back up, complete PLC cloning and more. Communication options include TCP/IP Ethernet, cellular and industrial protocols, such as MODBUS, DF1 slave, J1939 and CANopen. In addition, the Vision1040 can be taught to communicate via almost any device-based protocol. Unitronics products are available in Canada through Sandtron Automation Limited.
