Compact safety light curtains

Omron Scientific Technologiesí new MiniSafe MS4800 series safety light curtains are designed to optimize the cost of safeguarding design. A cascaded configuration reduces cabinet space requirements and can provide an effective guarding solution in multi-sided and dual-axis guarding applications. Optical scan codes eliminate cross talk, allowing OEMs to build identical machines without staggering the transmitter and receiver position. The Advanced and Standard models allow users to select Automatic Start or Start/Restart mode for point-of-operation or perimeter guarding. A reduced resolution feature allows larger objects to enter into the guarded area without sending a stop signal to the machine. The MS4800 family is available resolutions ranging from 14 mm to 40mm, with sensing ranges from 7m for 14mm resolution systems and 20m for 20, 30 and 40mm resolution systems. The MS4800 provides protected heights from 280 to 1800mm for 14 and 20mm resolution systems, 360 to 2120mm for 30mm resolution systems, and 360 to 2160mm for 40mm resolution systems.
