Several Schmersal safety switches (AZ 200), solenoid interlocks (AZM 200), magnetic latching switches (MZM100) and safety sensors (CSS 34, CSS16 and CSS 180) can be series connected up to 200 ft and monitored through a common safety relay, without detriment to the control category. In this way, solutions up to control category 4 to EN 954-1 and SIL level 3 to prEN ISO13849 can be realized. Schmersal has just developed a new Profibus-, Ethernet- and Device Net-based gateway. Combined with Schmersal on-board serial diagnostics, the gateway can lead to endless information for your data highway, according to the company.
