Nov. 3, 2015 – Robotic Vision Technologies (RVT) has hired Dr. John Brownlee as its chief technology officer and Paul Weidinger to be vice-president of engineering.
“We’re very fortunate to welcome Dr. Brownlee as a new member to the Robotic Vision Technologies team,” said RVT founder and CEO Rick Weidinger. “He has a tremendous record of achievement and success in several areas of technology development and his vision algorithm (CON4) is still used by the most successful mappers of our solar system after almost two decades of development.”
Paul will report to Dr. Brownlee. His work experience spans marketing, strategy, engineering and client services departments.
“Paul Weidinger comes to RVT well prepared to lead our engineering team in efforts to enhance our eVisionFactory code base and develop new products,” noted Rick.
“RVT is more than a software company, but a transformative force in bringing intelligence to manufacturing of all sorts,” Dr. Brownlee added. “Paul’s experience in computer science and robotics is an invaluable part of this development in manufacturing 4.0.”
The privately-held machine vision technology company says it plans to hire up to 11 additional robotics professionals. It will also open a second robotic laboratory in the Washington D.C. area in early 2016 to serve markets outside of automotive including federal systems.
