Pilz PMI 6 offers entire plant visualization and control

May 30, 2016 – The Pilz Machine Interface (PMI) 6 Control from automation company Pilz combines visualization and control in one package — the operator terminal to be equipped with a soft PLC in accordance with IEC 61131-3 as standard.

Together with a 512 MB RAM, 512 MB Flash memory capacity and the operating system Windows embedded Compact 7, the result is a “high performance platform” for all applications, says Pilz. Users can control the entire plant process with one unit, says Pilz, adding that the PMI 6 Control offers comprehensive diagnostics and helps to increase the productivity of the “plant in view.” Error messages are displayed in plain text and are accompanied with suggestions for how to rectify the problem. The user is guided to the solution step by step, so “troubleshooting need not be time-consuming.” The PMI 6 Control generation comes in two versions: a 7-in. or a 12-in. glass touchscreen.
