Jul. 8, 2016 – Omron Automation and Safety says its G9SE safety relay unit cuts installation time by up to 50 per cent and “significantly” reduces installation and troubleshooting time and costs for machine builders.

“The unit’s screw-less push-in terminal allows fast and easy installation, and with one of the slimmest profiles on the market it requires significantly less panel space. The troubleshooting process is vastly simplified by the design and usage of intuitive diagnostic LEDs,” says Omron. Features of the unit include: modules with two or four safety contacts and OFF-delay timing available; front-side wiring using screw-less terminals; Safe OFF delay function up to PLe; and Certification for lift standards EN 81-1, EN 81-2. To aid with the troubleshooting process, the G9SE has five diagnostic indicators that show the status of the inputs, outputs and power (along with the ability to show setting errors with the off time delay models), which greatly reduces troubleshooting time. Meanwhile, the G9SE’s front access terminals allow for faster installation of wiring, says Omron, as it helps terminal references be “easily located reducing wiring errors.” According to the company, the G9SE can be used in a range of safety input devices such as emergency stop switches, door switches and light curtains.
