Jul. 18, 2016 – AutomationDirect says its line of Stratus enclosure vortex coolers provide compressed air cooling where conventional enclosure cooling by air conditioners or heat exchangers is not possible.

According to AutomationDirect, all stainless steel vortex coolers have cooling capacities from 500 to 2,500 BTUH. If cooling capacity needs to change, the user does not need to replace the entire unit, it says, adding that available replacement generators will fit any of the Stratus vortex coolers. Mountable in a 3/4-inch electrical conduit knockout, the vortex cooler contains no moving parts, “requiring virtually no maintenance,” it promises. The series also features relief valves and seals built-in, enabling the units to maintain the sealed nature of NEMA 4, NEMA 4X and NEMA 12 enclosures. The distributor says the units creates “cool air without the use of refrigerants; therefore, there is no Freon, CFCs or HCFCs to pollute the environment.”
