Omron offers risk assessments to help companies protect employees

Aug. 3, 2016 – Omron Safety Services estimates 93 per cent of active machines that have not been assessed in plants around the world are not adequately safeguarded.

The company says it is offering “comprehensive” machine safeguarding assessments, which will determine whether machines meet compliance with OSHA, ANSI and other safety standards. Performed onsite by an Omron safety consultant, the risk assessment comprises of two steps: risk level identification and risk reduction. According to the company, Omron works with machine operators and maintenance personnel to understand the intended use of machine, tasks and hazards to determine risk associated with machine operation.
