Andreas Sobotta named Pilz Canada CEO, general manager

Sept. 20, 2016 – Andreas Sobotta has been named the CEO and general manager of Pilz Automation Safety Canada.
“I am very excited to join such an innovative company which spends over 20 per cent of their global sales in R&D. The Canadian team is very enthusiastic and I look forward to growing with them,” says Sobotta, who has held various leadership roles at Davis Controls, Festo, Siemens, Phoenix Contact and, most recently, Hammond Manufacturing.
The company describes him as an “experienced professional with many years in the electrical and controls world.”
Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, Pilz is a manufacturer of safety automation products and solutions, and provider of safety services like risk assessments, plant assessments and CE markings. Its Canadian operations are based in Barrie, Ont.
