Nov. 18, 2016 – Ottawa, Ont.-based Sciemetric Instruments — a provider of enterprise-wide quality management systems for defect detection and avoidance, process analysis and traceability — has established its first office in China in its manufacturing-intensive Shanghai region.
Located in Suzhou, the new office is close to the Chinese operations of Sciemetric customers like Ford Motor Co., Jaguar Land Rover Corp. and Caterpillar Inc. The area is also home to many home-grown Chinese companies in automotive, heavy-equipment and off-highway.
Sciemetric said it already works with many of these companies to help them achieve “higher benchmarks for quality” and plans to grow this customer base from its new office.
The new office will focus on application engineering, and will provide product, installation and commissioning support to local customers. As well, it will serve as a central base to conduct equipment repairs, host customers and prospects, and carry out application studies and demonstrations.
“China represents a great growth market that we are committed to and excited about,” said Louis Authurton, director of global installations. “Both domestic and multinational manufacturers eager to capitalize on the growth of China’s economy are ready to adopt technologies such as ours to improve their quality and brand reputation.”
