High brightness HMI

Schneider Electric’s new Magelis XBT-GT High Brightness HMIs feature a 5.7-inch, sun-readable touchscreen. The TFT 65K colour HMIs are ideally suited for industrial and commercial machine control applications requiring readability in sunlight-exposed environments such as water wastewater, car washes, cranes, transportation equipment, and greenhouses. High screen brightness is achieved via powerful backlighting and a nonreflective coating. AT 1,000 cd/m2, the brightness is twice the level of a standard screen, the company says. Embedded Ethernet connectivity and a web gate/server facitilitate remote control and diagnostics. A 16 MB memory and a compact flash card up to one GB allows the XBT-GT to manage complex applications. A USB port allows users to download applications and connect to peripherals such as printers and barcode readers. The HMI is configured by VijeoDesigner software, which features a library of more than 4,000 customizable objects.
